About

Welcome to My Blog!

fitnesssocialist

OK, so not everyone has a beach to run on every morning, but I thought the mountain backdrop might prove inspiring…

I’m that horrible stereotype of a ‘fitness fanatic’ I’m afraid – but please don’t let that put you off! I may be slightly addicted to exercise, but I’m also brutally honest and absolutely realistic when it comes to fitness.

I don’t believe in excuses, but I do believe that general Life does stick its oar in and can make life difficult for anyone trying to exercise with some regularity.

And, if I’m being totally honest, I don’t like all the negative stuff online about food. “5 foods to never eat”, “sugar is toxic”, “gluten is making you fat” (remember back in the day when it was fat that made you fat?). I feel this is the wrong approach. These headlines might get “clicks” and “shares” online, but they aren’t helpful, and in some cases can even be harmful. I want NO part of this crazed misinformation, and I definitely don’t want to be that extreme.

My advice to all!

Always seek the advice of your doctor or another qualified healthcare provider before altering your diet, changing your exercise regimen, starting any new treatment or making changes to existing treatment. Drink lots of water and aim to exercise at least 2 – 4 times a week with both cardio and weighted workouts.
